Our team has run many 1/2 marathons so we know what it's like between the 6 mile and 12 mile mark on a bland course...boring doesn't even describe it. So if you are looking for a beautiful course that offers history, entertainment, spirit and so much more look no further we have designed it for you at the Inaugural UNITE Half Marathon at Rutgers University.

Rutgers University is the 8th oldest US University, founded in 1766. As one of the largest universities in the US (and the largest in the US) it continues to enjoy a global reputation for academic excellence. Though the race won't test you academically it will test your mind, body and spirit as it takes you through this historic, beautiful and lively university!

The race begins on Busch Campus at the state of the art Werblin Recreation Center where a marching band and cheerleaders will lead you out on the start.

The first mile will take you past Yurcak Field  (soccer and lacrosse) as well as the newly renovated Rutgers Stadium (football).

The next mile and a half will wind through parts of the Busch Campus before making your way over to the Livingston Campus for a loop around the RAC (Rutgers Athletic Center, basketball), the baseball complex and the Bauer Track and Field Complex.

It’s back through the Busch Campus for miles 5-7 where you will run past beautiful academic buildings, the Rutgers Golf Course, through the start line crowd and once again past Rutgers Stadium.

Miles 7-11 will take you into Johnson Park where you will run past East Jersey Old Town Village and natural beauty all the while along the banks of the Raritan River.

Next it’s time to cross to the other side of the river and onto the College Avenue Campus. You will cross the Landing Lane bridge, take in the band on the Gazebo at Buccleugh Park and past the College Avenue Gym (the site of the very first inter-collegiate football game…Rutgers defeated Princeton 6-4 in 1869).

Save that last bit of sprint energy because this finish is what you will truly never forget as your friends and family cheer you down College Avenue amid thousands of spectators, music and fanfare and of course to finish.

All athletes are invited to savor their glory at the post race block party located right off of the finish line, at the magnificent Voorhees Mall on Seminary Avenue featuring a LIVE concert, food, and more.
